What is Personal Breakdown Cover?

Personal cover protects you as an individual when driving any car, and often will also cover you as a passenger (although some policies do have criteria on the cars they cover). You can normally add other members of your household to the policy too. Personal cover is ideal when there are multiple cars in the household, or you regularly drive multiple vehicles as you don't need to worry about listing all your vehicles with your provider.

Does it Cover All Vehicles?

Most providers will have some restrictions on the types of vehicles covered with a personal policy. For instance cars over a certain age may not be covered with some providers, likewise some providers won't cover vans. For vehicles like motorhomes and minibuses you'll normally need specialist cover as they're often excluded from personal policies.
