How do I Book an MOT
Simply fill out your details above and let us do the rest! We'll show you a list of local garages along with their price and rating based on feedback from our users.
How much should I pay for an MOT?
The government have set the maximum price for the MOT on a car at £54.85 although many garages offer a discount on this price. The maximum charge for motorcycles and vans is different, see the government website for a full list of maximum prices.
Do I Need an MOT?
It's a legal requirement that cars, vans and motorcycles have a valid MOT once they are 3 years old. Some vehicles like taxis and minibuses require an MOT from 1 year old. The penalty for driving a vehicle without a valid MOT is a fine of up to £1,000. Don't forget you can have a new MOT test done up to 30 days before the old one expires without changing the anniversary date (so effectively your MOT would be valid for just under 13 months).
How Long Does an MOT Take?
The time taken for an MOT can depend on the complexity of your vehicle and the efficiency of the tester. Generally an MOT should take in the region of 45-60 minutes. Obviously this will be longer if you book your annual service at the same time.
